Vigna 800 Amarone displays an intense complex bouquet with multi-layered aromas of dark flowers like violets & red roses, cherries preserved in alcohol, morels and plums. Hints of black pepper, liquorice and plain chocolate.
A palate of warm, elegant and velvety in the mouth feel with a long persistence and harmony.
romatically it opens on morello cherry, cranberry and a little pink peppercorn, with a leafy, almost sappy note underneath that reads as high-altitude Pinot Noir. The palate carries strawberry and rhubarb through the middle, then turns drier and more savoury towards the back, picking up dried thyme and a faint whiff of woodsmoke.
Blondie opens with white peach, nashi pear and a squeeze of pink grapefruit, with a faint red-fruit echo underneath that hints at where the grapes came from. The palate carries citrus blossom and something like almond skin, and there is a subtle savoury edge that keeps the fruit from turning sweet or simple.
